HOLIDAY CLOSING
We will be closed on the following days: December 24th, December 25th, December 31st and January 1st.

WINTER HOURS
Starting December 28th, Clymer library will be instituting winter hours on Saturdays only. Hours of operation will be from 10:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays. All weekday hours will remain the same.

Holiday Gift Boutique
Opens Thursday, December 5th.
Shop for the perfect gifts for your parents, family, teachers, and friends, as well as holiday decorations for your home! You may donate very gently used holiday decorations, collectibles, jewelry, and purses for this event. Presented by the Friends of Clymer Library.

Craft Circle – Every Thursday at 10:30 AM.
Open to all ages—join us for fiber crafts including rug making, knitting, crocheting, and more! Bring your own project or start something new. Come learn or teach a new skill.

“Welcome the Elf” Party
Saturday, December 7th at 1:00 PM.
Chippey the Elf is coming back to Clymer Library! Help us welcome our favorite elf-on-the-shelf. Make a decoration for Chippey’s tree (and one for you), decorate cookies, and watch the classic movie Elf. Preregistration and adult caregiver supervision are required. Just remember not to touch Chippey or he will return to the North Pole until next year!

Chanukah Storytime
Wednesday, December 11th, 10:30 AM.
Learn about Chanukah at Clymer Library. Members of the Congregation B’nai Harim will tell the story of Chanukah, and teach Chanukah games. All ages welcome!

Mrs. Claus Holiday Show
Thursday, December 19th, 6:30 PM.
Become an Elf, dance with the Sugarplum Fairies and partake in the Christmas stories and Holiday songs. Sign up required. Free to attend. Open to all ages! Sponsored by the Friends of Clymer Library.

Drop-in Christmas Crafting
Monday, December 2nd, 9th and 16th at 10:30 AM.
Simple craft kits and supplies will be available in the children’s area for children and adult caregivers to do in the library. Adult caregiver supervision is required.

Book Babies
Thursday, December 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th at 10:30 AM.
Miss Love invites caregivers, infants, and toddlers to join her for a half hour of songs, stories, rhymes, and felt board activities. Adult caregiver participation is required. Ages 0-6.

Tiny Explorers STEM
Thursday, December 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th at 11:15 AM.
Sensory beads, kinetic sand, play dough, magnetic letters/numbers, sidewalk chalk, threading pieces, shape sorters, and finger painting are some of the activities children can choose to play. Problem solving, self-control, exploring emotions, and building resiliency are just a few of the benefits of this hour-long program. Drop-in program.

Family Crafters
Tuesday, December 10th — 6:00 PM
Bring the entire family to Clymer Library to create a holiday craft that can be kept or gifted. Pre-registration and adult caregiver supervision are required.

Teen Action Board (TAB) Meeting
Tuesday, December 17th — 6:30 PM
Join the new Teen Action Board (formerly Teen Advisory Board) and make a difference in your library community. Earn volunteer credits, work on leadership skills, communication, problem solving, and creative expression. TAB is open to students in grades 7-12.

Family STEM: Science Lab
Saturday, December 21st, 1:00 PM.
Join us for an hour of fun exploring the science of oozing pumpkins, making butter and corn cob flyers. All materials are provided. Adult participation is required.


Become a member of Friends of Clymer Library for as little as $10 and help support and enhance library services for the community. To date, we have contributed over $9,000 for the purchase of new books and equipment. Membership forms are available at the library. The Friends purpose is to expand the library’s goals through gift dollars, advocacy, volunteers and program support to enhance library services to our community. We are a 501c3 tax exempt organization.

After loosing his job and wife, Pat (Bradley Cooper) winds up living with his parents (Robert De Niro, Jackie Weaver) Pat wants to reunite with his wife but his parents would prefer that he share their obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Donations Will be Accepted Starting January 2nd!
Donate your gently used books! With renovations complete, Friends of Clymer Library will accept donations of gently used books, CDs, games, and puzzles. Please note that we cannot accept magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias, or moldy and/or stained editions. Please bring your donations into the library, and you will be directed where to place them.

The Giving Tree Returns!

It’s that time of year again! The Giving Tree is the chance for you to help make a child’s holiday brighter. The Monroe County Children and Youth have provided the library with the names of fifty needy children in Tobyhanna and Tunkhannock Townships. Just choose a name(s) from the Giving Tree, mark your selection on the sign-up sheet by the tree, go shopping, and bring your unwrapped gift and the paper ornament back to the library by December 7 at 3:00 PM. Your generosity to needy children in our community is greatly appreciated!

Each month, we choose a Database of the Month that we offer online. This month our choices are 3 databases for our younger patrons: TumbleBooks, BookFlix and TrueFlix.

Upcoming Board of Trustees Meetings
Upcoming board meeting: December 18th at 6:00 PM. Board meetings are open to the public in the multi-purpose room. You are cordially invited to join us and your input is both encouraged and valued. Minutes of the meetings are available at the circulation desk in the library.
